Nonoptimality of static-priority policies in unreliable two-part-type manufacturing systems
In this note, we show that for the two-part-type one-machine continuous flow model, a static-priority policy cannot be optimal when the hedging point of the part of highest priority is positive. This result was previously conjectured by Veatch and Caramanis [6].
