Loess composites were prepared by blending loess with aqueous solutions of PVP, CMC, PVA respectively. The loess composites prepared with PVA solution showed the highest compressive strength and best water resistance. High degree of saponification and high molecular weight in PVA are important factors in increasing compressive strength and water resistance.
