Production of WS2 nanotubes by an activation method
Tungsten sulfide nanotubes have been prepared at low temperature-the preparation of such closed fullerene-like structures normally requires very high temperatures. Acid treatment, heating under vacuum to 100 degrees C, and sonication were used to produce the tubes, which were examined using transmission electron microscopy (see Figure) and atomic force microscopy.
