SYNDIOSPECIFIC POLYMERIZATION OF STYRENE WITH ARENE TITANIUM(II) COMPLEXES AS CATALYST PRECURSORS
The divalent titanium compounds [(eta(6)-C(6)H(5)Me)Ti(Cl2AlCl2)(2)] (1) and [(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6))Ti(Cl2AlCl2)(2)] (2) are syndiospecific catalysts in the polymerization of styrene when activated with methylaluminoxane. The polystyrene is of exceptionally high molecular weight.
