Synthesis and Structural Characterization of a New Rare-Earth Selenodiphosphate(IV) - Klap2Se6
The high-temperature, molten alkali-metal polyselenide salt reaction of the elements yielded a new, porous-layered rare-earth selenodiphosphate(IV), KLaP2Se6, that comprises uniquely bound [P2Se6](4-) units that bind lanthanum atoms through face-capping interactions. This is the first known rare-earth selenodiphosphate(IV) compound.
