제목 Continuous Production of DMC over Fixed-Bed K/MgO Catalyst in a Pilot scale Reactive Distillation
초록 DMC (Dimethyl Carbonate) was continuously synthesized by transesterification between EC and methanol using fixed-bed K/MgO catalyst. K/MgO catalyst has been applied and proven to be effective to DMC production in our previous experiment. MgO catalyst was formed as pellet shape (Raschig-ring type) to be employed as a support for the fixed-bed catalyst in continuous system. In the presence of the catalyst, the effects of reboiler duty, reboiler temperature, molar ratio of reactants and feed flow rate on DMC synthesis were intensively investigated. In the reaction conditions of reaction temperature of 124°C, pressure of 6.8×102 kPa, molar ratio between MeOH and EC of 11.0, reboiler temperature of 200°C, reboiler duty of 4150 W and EC feed flowrate of 0.056 l/h, it has shown a DMC selectivity around 100% and DMC yield of around 91%.
