Preparation of dihydroxylbenzene through clean production technology |

Phenol hydroxylation with H2O2 has performed in batch reactor at a temperature of 20~70oC over various Ion- exchanged zeolites. Ion-exchanged zeolite with Fe2+ and Co2+ cations is very active and selective for dihydroxybenzenes in phenol hydroxylation with H2O2 in aqueous reaction medium at room temperature. Ion-exchanged zeolite with Fe2+ and Co2+ cations shows high catalytic activity at room temperature in phenol hydroxylation with H2O2, where the conversion of phenol is 21% and the selectivity of benzoquinone is below 3% at the molar ratio of phenol to H2O2 of 3 in the starting aqueous reaction medium. Metal ions exchanged into supercages and/or channels of zeolite are supposed to act as active centers for the reaction. |
